Day 18!

Hello again! For day eighteen of Diamine Inkvent, we have Vibe.

The color/properties:

Diamine Vibe is another one of Diamine’s new “Extreme Sheen” inks, and this is the sheeniest so far. It has a deep blue base with a hint of green that dries into an intense reflective purple sheen wherever the ink pools. Depending on the pen and paper you’re using this ink with, you might not see the base color at all.

How did it perform?

Vibe has a wet flow and is well-lubricated to give a very pleasant writing experience. Like most sheening inks, it will quickly dry in the nib, and likely give you some light hard starting if you lift the pen off of the page for too long. It’s not much of an issue as long as you continue writing, but even after capping the pen, you may have to get it started up again.

After the experience of having to remove the stains left behind by the previous two Extreme Sheen inks, I wasn’t excited to clean this one out too, but… there was no stain? None at all. Actually, I’m pretty sure it came out clearer than it was before I inked this up. Well, fair enough. I still wouldn’t recommend having this ink anywhere close to a demonstrator or easily stainable pen. And maybe keep to pens with easily soakable nib units, because you’ll need to do that multiple times.

My personal thoughts…

My goodness, what in the synth-wave inks do we have here? I admit, I wasn’t all that excited when I pulled it out. First, it wasn’t pushing any color boundaries in the same way as Grotto and Sleigh Ride — sheening blues is pretty common. And the name doesn’t mean anything to me: “Vibe.” Well, okay. I do think it’s a great name for an ink. But where were they going with that? Actually, it doesn’t matter, because this is just so cool. Is it festive? Not really! Is it wintry? Debatable? Is it awesome? It absolutely is! Do I recommend it? Of course, I do! It’s a vibe~
