Diamine Inkvent 2024: Day 24 — Salted Caramel
Day 24!
Happy Christmas Eve! It’s the penultimate day of Inkvent 2024, and today’s ink is Salted Caramel.
The color/properties:
Salted Caramel is a Shimmering ink. The base color is a warm yellow-brown. It shades with an easily visible, crisp cut between light and dark tones where the ink pools in both cursive and print. The particulates are golden and tie everything together into a beautiful, sparkly golden treat of an ink.

How did it perform?
Salted Caramel has a medium flow and is lubricated well enough for a comfortable writing experience. I didn’t experience any clogs, skips, or hard starts during my tests. The shimmer distribution is okay, though it requires more agitation than I’d like to keep it flowing consistently, but it its far from unusable.
Cleaning was better than expected and after a soak, there weren’t any visible particulates left in the pen (your mileage may vary). The color washed out easily as well.

My personal thoughts…
This feels familiar to my day 24 experience last year. Another day, another shimmer. The fatigue is real, so believe me when I say I loved this ink. It’s not too bright, shades beautifully, and makes me want salted caramels, so it did its job. Despite my fatigue, it would have been disappointing if it wasn’t a shimmer. That single detail goes so far to tie the whole concept together. Is it an all-time Inkvent great? Maybe not as much as others, but I think a lot of people will like this one. I sure do.
